County Manager Dick Anderson Recognizes Seven Employees During First Quarter FOCUS Awards

Each quarter, Fulton County employees are recognized for exemplary service in several categories during the F.O.C.U.S. Awards.  F.O.C.U.S. stands for "Fulton - One County United in Service." This quarter, seven employees were recognized. County Manager Dick Anderson presented the employees with certificates as fellow employees cheered them on.  Meet the first quarter 2015 F.O.C.U.S. Award Winners!

Mustafa Mahdi - Recognized in Community Service Category. Mustafa's "day job" is serving as a Juvenile Probation Officer. But he has also taken the time to create a program to teach children involved in the Juvenile Court to play chess. During the sessions, which match juveniles with adult volunteers, chess is used as a conversation starter to discuss life and decision making.

Sgt. Tinakorn Nalampoon - Recognized in Professional Excellence Category. A retired Executive Chef who served with the Marriot Corporation for more than 30 years, Sgt. Nalampoon now enjoys a second career overseeing the kitchen at the Fulton County Jail. This 24/7 operation serves meals to more than 2,000 inmates and employees every day. He makes sure it not only serves nutritious meals efficiently, but meets the highest possible cleanliness standards. Even better, he has helped train inmates with an important skill, and has helped several get jobs after release.

Melissa Lewis - Recognized in Leadership Category. Melissa is a producer/editor with FGTV. Thousands of citizens see her work. She works behind the scenes as a team leader, ensuring that she leads by example by doing whatever it takes to get the job done!

Russell Fleming - Recognized in the Heroism Category. Russell works in the Finance Department. One day last fall, Russell was eating lunch when a fellow employee from another department went into cardiac arrest. Using skills he learned through Fulton County Floor Leader training, Russell administered CPR until paramedics arrived, and, ultimately, helped save the life of a fellow employee.

Deputy Marcus Lampkin - Recognized in the Safety & Security Category. Deputy Lampkin was providing security at the North Annex when he spotted a loaded gun in a detainee's backpack. Thanks to Deputy Lampkin's attention to detail, training and experience, a life-threatening situation was avoided.

Janice Dudley - Recognized in the "Above and Beyond" Category. Ms. Dudley works in the Tax Commissioner's Office. Each day she goes the extra mile to ensure that her office runs smoothly. She makes sure the office is clean and maintained, and that staff have the resources to meet customer needs. She also supervises a 35-member staff responsible for property taxes and motor vehicles.

Erica Boone - Recognized in the Customer Service Category. Ms. Boone works in the Offic eof the Clerk of Superior Court. She is responsible for refiling documetns and pleadings. She is known among her team for leaving no stone unturned when it comes to serving citizens and fellow employees.
